His books have been selected by the Book-of-the-Month Club, the Literary Guild, the One Spirit Book Club and other book clubs, and translated into more than dozen languages.
His short work has appeared in publications ranging from the New York Times Magazine to American Heritage and the Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction. He has written under a number of pseudonyms as well as his own name, most notably Eric Corder and Robert Calder.
